How Hafilat recharge works with AD Fare Point
A short walkthrough of the top up bus card process — from the card number in your wallet to a boosted balance on Abu Dhabi buses.
Locate the card number
Turn your Hafilat card over. The 10-digit number is printed under the ITC branding, in the format 1234 5678 90.
Open the recharge page
Go to Recharge. Enter the card number and pick a top up amount — presets from AED 20 to AED 200, or a custom amount up to AED 500.
Confirm and pay
Enter card details on the secure payment page. We receive the confirmation and queue your Hafilat top up for the same working day.
Get a receipt
If you provided an email, a receipt lands in your inbox with the transaction reference. Keep it for support enquiries.
Tap and ride
Once your balance is applied, tap the card on any Abu Dhabi bus validator. Fare is deducted automatically per journey.

Understanding your Hafilat card
Hafilat is the smart transit card used on Abu Dhabi city and regional buses. The card holds a prepaid balance in AED; every ride deducts the fare when you tap it on the on-board validator. When the balance drops below a single fare, you top up bus card to keep riding.
Card categories
- Standard — anonymous card sold without personal details.
- Personal — issued in your name, with photo, protected if reported lost.
- Concession — discounted category for eligible students and seniors.
All three categories share the same 10-digit number format, and all three can be topped up through this service.
Payment methods
We accept AED-denominated debit and credit cards. All card entry happens on the secure payment page. No card data is stored on our servers.
Timing
Top-ups submitted during working hours (Sun–Thu 09:00–18:00) are processed the same day. Late-evening, Friday and Saturday top-ups typically apply the next working morning. If you plan to travel early, top up in advance.
